TENERIFE, CANARY ISLANDS

Tenerife is one of the eight main islands in the Canary Islands archipelago. The islands have played a crucial role as a strategic vantage points for various civilizations that occupied it through the ages. Formerly occupied by the Guanche people, the native population has been replaced by the incoming wave of colonizers from the west. Currently, the whole archipelago remains under the Spanish rule.

The pinnacle of Tenerife island is one of the largest active island volcanoes, Mt Teide, towering over the rest of the island at the height of 3718m above sea level, providing bird-like views of the rest of the island and it’s surroundings. The surreal landscapes created by layers of lava create a visual spectacle unlike any other.
